This newly opened Sichuan restaurant was such a great surprise — the bullfrog portion was huge, fresh, and packed with flavor. The salted egg yolk corn came out hot and crispy, sweet and savory at the same time, and totally addictive. Everything is cooked to order with amazing wok hei, friendly service, and I’ll definitely be coming back!

Great new Sichuan spot in Monterey Park. The signature Crooked Mouth Chicken had a nice numbing spice and great flavor. The sauerkraut fish with tofu was actually my favorite – tangy, comforting, and really well balanced. We also ordered the spicy frog legs, dry pot cabbage, salted egg yolk corn, and scallion oil noodles. Everything was flavorful and perfect for sharing. The restaurant is modern and lively, and it seems pretty popular – we saw a lot of takeout orders while dining. Definitely a good place if you enjoy bold Sichuan flavors.

Just had dinner at YanYu Sichuan Cuisine in Monterey Park, and it was really solid. We ordered the spicy frog, their signature farm chicken, tomato and fried eggs, and a fish dish—all came out delicious and tasted fresh and well-prepared. The portions are generous, so we had plenty to take home HAHA. Right now they even have an all-day 15% off on food promotion, which makes it an even better deal. The place is clean and nicely kept, and the service was good and attentive. Definitely worth a visit if you’re into real Sichuan food.

Came here with friends and honestly… everything hit. If you like real Sichuan food, this place gets it right. Not dumbed down, not just spicy for the sake of spicy — actual flavor. it was super tender and packed with chili oil flavor. Spicy, savory, and low-key addictive. The Sichuan peppercorn black fish was really good — fish was soft, peppercorn numbing but clean, not bitter. Fuqi Feipian was solid, well seasoned, great texture. Cured pork with bamboo shoots was smoky, salty, and perfect with rice. And surprisingly, the salted egg yolk pumpkin stole the show — crispy, rich, and gone fast. Portions are generous, food came out hot, and everything tasted legit. Definitely a good spot for sharing dishes with friends. If you’re craving proper Sichuan flavors in LA, this place is worth checking out. Would come back.

The scallion grilled fish is a must-order, with lightly crispy skin, tender fish, and sides like tofu skin, cauliflower, lotus root, and bean sprouts soaking up the savory sauce as it cooks. The stir-fried beef with king oyster mushrooms has tender beef and mushrooms full of rich flavor, making it perfect with rice. The green bean and eggplant dish delivers a comforting home-style taste, with soft, non-greasy eggplant and crisp beans, mildly savory and spicy. The shepherd’s purse tofu soup is clean and refreshing, with silky tofu that balances the spicy dishes very well. Overall, portions are generous and the flavors are consistent, making this a solid spot for Sichuan food in the LA area.
